Robert Griffin III turns pro
As expected, Baylor's Robert Griffin III has decided to enter the NFL Draft this coming April. It was a smart move on his part because he will likely be the second quarterback taken, behind Stanford's Andrew Luck. Due to a few underclassmen choosing to stay in college for another year, this year's quarterback class lacks star power behind Luck and RG3. Many experts have Griffin as a top ten prospect and don't be surprised to see teams like Washington or Miami trade up to select him.

I agree with you saying it was the right decision for him to turn pro i just wish he would have stayed another year so college football would have been that much more exciting next year. I know everyone is so high on Luck but after watching what Cam Newton was able to do this year, and the experts say that RG3 is better passer than Cam, I think the colts could take a chance on him instead..Just throwing it out there
ReplyDeleteRG3 will make an attempt to change the NFL "prototypical" QB, a lot like Tebow is sort of doing... but I think he may make it as an "Athlete" in the NFL. A lot like you see recruits coming out of high school as "athletes" simple b/c they can do it all. He may turn into a Josh Cribbs type player. Just a guess lol
ReplyDeleteI don't see the Colts picking anyone but Luck. In fact, the owner has already proclaimed that they will choose Luck with the first selection.
ReplyDeleteI see your opinion spartan11, but many of the quarterbacks who move positions once they reach the NFL (Michael Robinson, Cribbs, etc) did not experience the type of collegiate success that RG3 had. It will be interesting to see where he lands, but I've been hearing a lot of top 10 talk.
